Privacy policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Draft. This is a plain-English draft prepared for launch review. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before publishing, especially for COPPA, GDPR, and CCPA specifics.

The short version: your child's data belongs to you. We show no ads, we sell no data, we collect as little as possible, and you can export or delete everything whenever you want.

What we collect

We collect what you give us and nothing more:

· Your account: an email address and a password, so you can sign in and recover your data.
· Your child's profile: a name or nickname (a nickname is fine), an age band, preferences (loves and avoids), and focus skills. Diagnosis info is optional, and the app works fully without it.
· Activity logs: which activities you ran, how long they lasted, the rating you picked, and any notes you chose to write.
· Photos: stay on your phone by default. They are never uploaded unless you explicitly turn that setting off.

What we never do

· We never show ads, of any kind.
· We never sell or rent your data to anyone.
· We never share diagnosis info with anyone, full stop.
· We never require your child's real name, birth date, or photo.

How we use your data

Only to run the product: building your weekly plan, showing your dashboard, suggesting blends, and syncing across your devices. Aggregated, de-identified usage patterns (never notes, names, or diagnosis info) help us improve activity suggestions for everyone.

Sharing you control

The "share report" feature creates a one-page summary that you choose to send. Nothing is shared with anyone unless you tap send.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored encrypted, in transit and at rest, with a reputable cloud provider in the United States. Only the small number of Playnook staff who need access for support can access account records, and never notes or diagnosis info.

Your rights

From the app you can, at any time:

· Export all data as a readable file.
· Delete all data, permanently, within 30 days of the request.
· Correct anything by editing it directly.

If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), those rights apply and we honor them. Email us and we will help.

Children

Playnook is used by parents, not children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. The child profile is created and controlled entirely by you, the parent.

Changes

If we change this policy in any meaningful way, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect, in plain words.
